Who is New England Seafood International?
New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 26,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas.

Title: Programme Manager - Secondment
Reports to: Projects Director
Location: Chessington
Salary: Depending on Experience
Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 17:00
What is the purpose of this role?
This role plays a key pivotal part of ensuring the smooth running of the Projects function at New England Seafood, working closely with the Projects Director, Projects Engineer, and Process Engineer.

The individual will act as a first point of contact for project support across the business – including project set-up, tools & techniques, governance, and programme leadership.
This is a secondment opportunity for a period of 1 year.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for anyone needing project support within NESI
- Manage the governance of a portfolio of projects and programme across New England, ensuring that projects are set up in line within agreed NESI formats (tools, template documentation, metrics etc.)
- Work closely with assigned project leads to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
- Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Preparing reports and updating Group Projects Director and other stakeholders as and when required.
- Clear management of timekeeping and progress on all projects, understanding the risks and issues associated that may arise, escalating when appropriate to the right levels to manage expectations and ensure the right support and resources are provided in a timely manner
- Resolving issues with management and other stakeholders when they arise

What experiences, knowledge and capabilities do I need to demonstrate?
- Experience in continuous improvement methodology
- Experience of working cross-functionally to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
- Experience of producing documents, reports, and presentations to a high standard
- Experience of managing and leading meetings with a range of participants including senior management
- Strong and confident decision-maker and problem-solver
- Excellent self-management skills to work independently using own initiative to take the lead
- Flexible and adaptable to react, respond and manage changing situations
- Excellent planning and organisation skills at strategic and operational level for yourself and the team
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage priorities in a fast-changing environment for yourself and the team
- Can build credibility quickly through business understanding, alignment and action
- Has influence and impact to drive initiatives and create buy in and ownership.
