π Interim Programme Manager π
Are you an experienced interim programme leader who excels at turning day-zero ambiguity into structured, high-impact operational delivery?
We are working in close, exclusive partnership with our client - a leading national healthcare charity - to secure a hands-on, delivery-focused Interim Programme Manager to launch and establish a critical, cross-organisational transformation initiative.
Reporting directly to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) with dotted-line assurance to Group Strategy & Transformation, this is a high-profile 5β6 month mandate to align and effectively mobilise a UK-wide network of 11,000 healthcare professionals across regional and medical networks. π₯
π― The Strategic Mission
- Day-Zero Programme Mobilisation Step into an early-stage initiative to conduct current-state diagnostics, establish programme architecture, build PMO controls, design RAIDD management frameworks, and author the Programme Definition Document (PDD) from scratch.
- BAU vs. Transformation Scoping Conduct a thorough transition review of existing workstreams to separate Business-As-Usual (BAU) operational tasks from true transformational scope - ensuring ongoing routine activities are handed back to line management while keeping the programme sharply focused on strategic change.
- Workforce Mobilisation & System Alignment Drive cross-organisational integration between central strategy and operational teams, breaking down internal silos to deploy healthcare specialists into high-impact healthcare spaces. π€
- Applied MSP Governance & Benefits Realisation Embed formal decision-making structures and design outcome-focused benefits frameworks using Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) principles to track strategic impact. π
- Pragmatic, Hands-On Execution Balance high-level strategic roadmap design with tactical operational delivery in a lean environment - rolling up your sleeves to drive momentum rather than taking a purely advisory stance. β‘

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

π€ The Ideal Profile
- Applied MSP Methodology - Essential Proven track record of managing and delivering live, complex programmes under MSP principles - classroom-only certifications or theoretical knowledge will not suffice.
- End-to-End Mobilisation Demonstrable experience establishing programmes from scratch in complex, multi-stakeholder environments across charity, healthcare, public sector, or commercial corporate settings.
- Strategic Clarity Sharp capability to distinguish between operational business-as-usual and true transformation, bringing structure and accountability to messy, early-stage landscapes.
- Matrix Leadership Exceptional stakeholder credibility with the ability to influence cross-functional directorates, external healthcare partners, and senior executives without relying on direct line management authority.
