Reporting to the Programme Director, the Programme Manager will be responsible for directing the delivery of the defined programme of works within the Transport team, to ensure benefits are realised and commissioning projects as required to achieve defined programme outcomes. The Programme Manager will be expected to manage budgets and financial forecasts.
This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to “meet with purpose” mostly around the west midlands area.
What You’ll Do
- Accountable for the correct implementation of the Client, and telent QEHS procedures, which includes Telent staff and sub-contractors assigned to the programme
- Accountable for the achievement of programme objectives, outcomes and benefits realisation
- Accountable for aligning the business and/or client strategic goals to determine and define programme objectives, outcomes and benefits.
- Accountable for the development of an integrated set of Project Execution/Mobilisation Plans.
- Will be required to oversee highly complex integrated projects for the overall programme
- Responsible for setting individual project budgets ensuring they are within the overall programme budget
- Governing the commercial activity and financial performance of the programme and reporting to Senior Management for all aspects of the programme
- Leading bid activities and ensuring the development of Programme Plans, Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions (RAID) log and method statement responses as required to support bid development.
- Manage direct reports in line with HR policies, procedures and business processes

Who You Are
You will bring proven senior level experience, ideally within the rail sector, supported by a track record of successfully delivering a substantial portfolio of works. You will have managed complex programmes with significant multi-million-pound budgets, demonstrating robust commercial and financial accountability. You will motivate and empower teams to excel, driving performance and collaboration.
Key Requirements
- Proven ability to lead and deliver large, complex programmes to time, cost, and quality targets.
- Excellent financial and commercial experience of managing multi-million-pound business critical programmes
- Demonstrable leadership and people management skills, driving high performance and positive team culture.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
- Sound understanding of rail standards, regulatory requirements, and operational processes (desirable).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Flexibility to travel to UK based sites
