Programme Manager - Major Projects
Contract Opportunity | Inside IR35
Birmingham | Guildford | Leeds | Manchester | Bedford | Bristol
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the delivery of a major portfolio of complex infrastructure projects valued at approximately £500m. The role will involve overseeing project teams, contractors and consultants, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed governance, commercial and performance objectives.
Working within a major projects environment, you will be responsible for programme leadership, stakeholder management, commercial performance, budget control, risk management and supply chain oversight, ensuring successful delivery across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a portfolio of major infrastructure projects.
- Manage programme governance, reporting and approvals processes.
- Oversee commercial, financial and schedule performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and develop project teams, ensuring capability and resource requirements are met.
- Drive health, safety, quality and compliance standards across the programme.
- Manage consultants and contractors, ensuring value for money and performance against agreed objectives.

Requirements
- Extensive experience delivering complex, high-value infrastructure or major projects programmes.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven commercial and contract management experience.
- Experience operating within complex matrix organisations.
- Programme or Project Management qualification such as MSP, APM or equivalent, or the ability to attain accreditation.
- Background within highways, transportation, infrastructure or a similar major projects environment preferred.
