Programme Manager – Publications

Location: London/Manchester/ Hybrid / Remote UK

About the Role

Are you an experienced Medical Communications professional with a background in project delivery, publications management, and client partnerships? We’re seeking a Programme Manager to join our growing team and help deliver scientific communication programmes across diverse therapeutic areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced agency environment, collaborating with clients and internal teams to manage complex publications and medical affairs projects from start to finish.

Whether you’re an experienced Programme Manager or looking to advance your MedComms career, you’ll develop expertise in:

Key Responsibilities

As Programme Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day project management across multiple assignments, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Key tasks include:

  • Managing publications projects end-to-end, covering:

    • Abstracts
    • Posters
    • Manuscripts
    • Congress-related deliverables
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, timelines, and status trackers

  • Independently driving smaller projects while supporting larger accounts and programmes

  • Coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution

  • Balancing competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Supporting project financial management, including:

    • Invoicing
    • Budget creation and forecasting
    • Financial tracking
  • Understanding Statements of Work (SOWs) and managing project scope effectively

  • Identifying and communicating potential risks and out-of-scope activities

  • Participating in client status calls and maintaining regular communication via email and virtual meetings

  • Building and fostering strong working relationships with both clients and internal colleagues


Requirements

To excel in this role, you’ll bring the following experience and skills:

  • Medical Communications agency experience
  • Publications management expertise, particularly in:
    • Abstracts
    • Posters
    • Manuscripts
  • Project management experience, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Financial acumen, including:
    • Invoicing
    • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong organisational and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Direct client experience and proficiency in managing project communications
  • Oncology-related experience and prior use of iEnvision would be advantageous but not essential
