Role: Programme Manager - Training Support Provision (TSP)
Location: Bristol
Duration: 12 months
Role Type: Hybrid 3 days a week onsite
Salary: Depending on experience
Role Overview:
Our globally renowned aerospace and defence client is seeking a Programme Manager to support their P-8A Training Support Provision (TSP) Programme Manager will hold overall responsibility and accountability for the successful delivery of the P-8A TSP contract, ensuring programme requirements are achieved to agreed time, cost, quality and contractual performance standards.
The role will act as the principal interface between the client and the MoD, providing leadership across the programme and ensuring effective delivery of training services, resources, assets and associated contractual commitments.
The Programme Manager will also support the E-7 Training programme transition from mobilisation into execution, including the establishment and development of the Training Service Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the cross-functional programme team responsible for delivery of P-8A and E-7 training activities and associated programme scope.
- Manage programme execution, monitoring, control and reporting in accordance with Boeing governance and programme management processes, ensuring achievement of schedule, cost, quality and contractual KPI requirements.
- Act as the primary programme interface with key internal and external stakeholders, including the MoD, Authority, NAM and OC42.
- Ensure effective implementation of programme management best practice, governance and controls throughout the TSP programme.
- Maintain oversight of the provision and availability of SQEP Instructors, Console Operators, Course Design Support Personnel, maintenance personnel and General Support resources.
- Ensure availability and effective management of specified training assets, including associated maintenance, spares, licences and configuration control.
- Ensure contractual deliverables, CDRLs, milestones and Additional Tasks are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Support the transition of E-7 Training from mobilisation into operational execution and the establishment of the Training Service IPT.
- Support programme growth initiatives, including PP2 / POWER, international training expansion across Germany, Denmark and Norway, and training-device upgrades.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, development and performance management to assigned TSP Project Manager(s).
- Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships, supporting effective SQEP recruitment, contractor performance and programme delivery.
- Lead and manage programme change within demanding schedules and competing priorities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

- Recognised programme/project management qualification such as APMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI-PMP, Boeing PMW or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience successfully leading cross-functional teams, preferably within a matrix organisation.
- Strong programme leadership capability with a proven record of delivery, ownership and accountability.
- Experience acting as a primary customer interface, with the ability to engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders.
Desirable Experience:
- 10+ years' programme or project management experience within aerospace or defence.
- Experience of budget ownership, financial management and cost control across complex programmes.
- Direct experience managing UK MOD and service contracts, including contractual KPI/PI performance.
- Experience transitioning programmes from mobilisation into execution and establishing new training or sustainment capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management across customers, suppliers, programme sponsors and assurance organisations.
- Experience of contract and financial control across multi-year production, service or sustainment programmes.
- Proven ability to manage programme change, competing priorities and challenging delivery schedules.
- Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably within Engineering or Business Management.
- Pragmatic and solutions-focused leadership style, with strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
