Job Title: Programme Manager - Autonomous System

Location: London / Hybrid

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum based upon experience plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Overview:

The company is the trade association which brings together people, companies and organisations to realise the positive outcomes of what digital technology can achieve. With over 1200 members (the majority of which are SMEs) across the UK, the organisation creates a network for innovation and collaboration across business, government and stakeholders to provide a better future for people, society, the economy and the planet. By providing expertise and insight, we support our members, partners and stakeholders as they prepare the UK for what comes next in a constantly changing world.

Overview of the Role:

This is a new cross-programme role created to help the organisation and its members explore, shape and accelerate the responsible deployment of autonomous systems and drones across these markets. The Programme Manager will work horizontally across the organisation's defence, national security and justice & emergency services programmes, identifying shared opportunities and challenges, joining up members and stakeholders who might otherwise operate in silos, and building the company's profile as a leading voice on autonomous systems for the public sector.

Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of the organisation's activities on autonomous systems and uncrewed systems across its relevant market programmes.

This challenging and wide-ranging position provides an opportunity to work with senior level representatives from industry, government and the operational community to support the development and implementation of an ambitious agenda. The role will encompass the support and development of policy and market engagement activities related to the deployment of drones and wider autonomous systems, spanning defence, national security and the emergency services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
