The Opportunity

A leading global change and transformation consultancy is looking for a Director of Strategic Programme Management to join its London practice.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced programme management professional who can combine hands-on delivery leadership, client advisory, business development and practice growth.

You will work with senior client stakeholders to turn strategy into execution, leading complex programmes and helping organisations solve their most critical transformation challenges.

The Role

As a Director, you will take ownership of complex programme and portfolio engagements, bringing deep programme management expertise and a pragmatic approach to delivery.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, lead high-performing consulting teams and play a key role in growing existing accounts and winning new business.

The role combines programme leadership, client development, commercial growth and external thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex programme and portfolio management engagements from strategy through to delivery.
  • Take accountability for programme outcomes, ensuring solutions are practical, effective and sustainable.
  • Step into critical Programme Manager or Project Manager roles where senior delivery leadership is required.
  • Diagnose complex client challenges and develop innovative solutions across programme and portfolio management.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior client stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify and shape new business opportunities across existing and prospective accounts.
  • Lead proposals, pursuits and client presentations to secure new engagements.
  • Grow existing client relationships and identify opportunities for broader transformation support.
  • Lead and develop consulting teams across complex engagements.
  • Contribute to the firm's Programme and Portfolio Management proposition and wider practice development.
  • Build external profile and establish yourself as a recognised thought leader in programme management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
