Rate: £781.35 per day (via Umbrella Company)
Contract Duration: Until December 2026

Overview
Our client, a top-tier global banking organisation, is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the delivery of strategic Generative AI initiatives across multiple business and technology functions.
This is a high-profile role responsible for the end-to-end planning, governance, and successful delivery of one or more AI programmes. Working closely with senior stakeholders, Programme Directors, and cross-functional teams, you will drive the deployment of AI solutions at scale while ensuring alignment with the organisation's wider transformation objectives.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned programme delivery professional with a proven track record of leading large-scale transformation initiatives, ideally within financial services. You will be comfortable operating in complex environments, managing senior stakeholder relationships, navigating ambiguity, and ensuring measurable business outcomes are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple Generative AI programmes and projects.
- Develop and maintain programme plans, ensuring delivery milestones, budgets, resources, and benefits are effectively managed.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, technology, risk, compliance, and operations.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate programme risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to AI governance, regulatory, security, and risk management requirements.
- Provide clear and concise executive-level reporting on programme status, risks, and outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and delivery partners to drive alignment and successful change implementation.
- Support effective change adoption to ensure successful business engagement and benefits realisation.
- Drive continuous improvement across programme delivery models and ways of working.
- Manage change control processes, ensuring impacts are assessed and approvals are obtained where required.
- Promote delivery excellence, project quality, and robust governance throughout programme execution.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Influence and engage senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Foster collaboration across global teams and business units.
- Build consensus amongst diverse stakeholder groups and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Facilitate open, transparent communication and resolve conflicts where required.
- Support strategic decision-making through analysis, insight, and informed recommendations.
- Ensure alignment between programme objectives and wider business transformation goals.
Required Experience
- 18+ years of programme and project delivery experience.
- Extensive experience leading large-scale business transformation programmes within complex organisations.
- Proven experience delivering Generative AI, Advanced Analytics, Digital Transformation, or emerging technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of at least two to three retail banking domains, including:
- Lending
- Digital Banking
- Payments
- Wealth Management
- Customer Channels
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Experience delivering programmes across multiple countries, regions, and global teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and modern transformation practices.
- Demonstrable experience taking technology solutions from proof of concept through to production and enterprise-wide adoption.
- Excellent communication, influencing, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make effective decisions in complex environments.

Qualifications & Certifications
- MBA from a leading business school preferred.
- PMP, MSP, P3O, MOP, PRINCE2, SAFe, AgilePM, or equivalent project management certifications highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of enterprise transformation frameworks and delivery governance.
