Programme Manager – M&A / Transaction Readiness | Contract
📍 City of London
💼 6-Month Contract | Outside IR35
💰 Negotiable Rate
We’re looking for an experienced Programme Manager / M&A Project Manager to join an insurance organisation and play a key role in a transaction readiness programme.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can bring structure to a complex programme, coordinate multiple workstreams and provide strong governance and delivery oversight from day one.
What we’re looking for
Insurance experience is essential, along with a strong track record of working closely and extensively with Finance, Legal and Compliance teams.
You’ll need to be comfortable operating at pace, managing senior stakeholders and bringing together multiple areas of the business to ensure the programme remains on track.
Key responsibilities
Programme & PMO Leadership
- Establish and run the programme management framework
- Build and maintain an integrated plan across multiple workstreams
- Define governance, reporting and escalation processes
- Establish effective RAID and action-tracking disciplines
- Set up dashboards, reporting templates and programme documentation
- Create a clear governance cadence and ownership model

Delivery Management
- Drive progress against key milestones, deliverables and critical path activities
- Coordinate workstream leads and external advisers
- Manage dependencies, risks, issues, actions and decisions
- Identify blockers and potential delays and escalate where necessary
- Support recovery planning where delivery is at risk
- Maintain a clear view of overall programme readiness and delivery confidence
Senior Stakeholder & Executive Reporting
- Produce weekly programme reporting and dashboards
- Prepare materials for senior governance forums, including SteerCo, ExCo and Board-level stakeholders
- Provide clear insight into progress, risks, dependencies and decisions
- Maintain governance, action and decision logs
- Ensure senior stakeholders have clear visibility of programme priorities and upcoming commitments

Key experience
We’re looking for a proven Programme Manager / M&A Project Manager who has:
- Strong insurance industry experience
- Extensive experience partnering with Finance, Legal and Compliance
- Experience working on M&A, transaction readiness, business sale or complex transformation programmes
- Strong PMO and programme governance experience
- A track record of managing complex, multi-workstream programmes
- Excellent senior stakeholder management and executive reporting skills
- Experience creating integrated programme plans and robust RAID frameworks
- The ability to operate hands-on and drive delivery in a fast-moving environment
