Salary: £47,000 pa
Location: Hybrid between our office in NW2 and working from home
Contract: Fixed term 18 month contract to March 2028

About the Role
World Jewish Relief provides life-saving and life-changing action to people in crisis around the world. We work with our trusted local partners to help people survive the consequences of conflict and disaster, to thrive and rebuild their lives. We deliver programmes using our expertise, with urgency to achieve maximum and sustainable impact for those within and beyond our community.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager to lead the management of a new Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme in Mozambique. The programme will be delivered in partnership with a Mozambican organisation and aims to improve access to safe, inclusive and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services for vulnerable communities in Mozambique. It will include activities such as construction or rehabilitation of water systems, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion, community engagement, institutional capacity strengthening and climate-resilient WASH planning.
Responsibilities
The Programme Manager will ensure high-quality, timely and compliant delivery within budget. Based at our office in London, you will be responsible for the programme’s overall performance, partnership management, financial oversight, risk management, safeguarding, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and donor reporting.

- Significant experience managing international development or humanitarian programmes, including WASH or a substantial WASH component.
- Experience working with local or national partners and managing institutional donor grants, preferably FCDO-funded programmes.
- Strong experience in programme planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring, risk and compliance.
- Experience using theories of change, logframes, indicators and MEL plans, and translating data into management decisions.
- Experience producing high-quality donor reports and undertaking international programme-monitoring visits.
- Experience working in complex, fragile or resource-constrained contexts.
- Good knowledge of WASH, GEDSI, sustainable and climate-resilient programming, and programme-cycle management.
- Financial literacy and confidence reviewing budgets, expenditure reports and programme data.
- Fluent written and spoken English and working knowledge of Portuguese

- A commitment to safeguarding, accountability, ethical practice, equality and inclusion.
- Be willing and able to travel regularly to Mozambique.
