About the Role
The Programme Manager – Manufacturing Operations is responsible for the planning, monitoring, and control of all aspects of the programme, and the motivation of those involved, to achieve the business objectives and outcomes within the expected programme performance targets of schedule, cost, quality, scope, benefits, and risks.
You will own and lead a programme of site-based Manufacturing Operations projects, in accordance with S9, the Facilities Project Model, and Project Management Office governance as required. The programme will involve executing relevant elements of the Manufacturing Operations portfolio, working closely with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Services, and Planning & Control, as well as potentially several external contractors.
The role supports hybrid working, with a normal balance of three days per week in the office. The programme currently includes projects across Ansty, Annesley, and Derby, and you will be expected to travel to other plants within the Compression Systems MBU as required to support project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification, and time of defined packages of work within the programme.
- Secure and manage the provision of resources required for the programme from internal and/or external providers.
- Create and manage an integrated set of programme plans and schedules.
- Develop and secure budgets for the programme and control forecast and actual costs against the allocated budget.
- Establish, develop, and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the package(s) of work within the programme.
- Act as the focal point and escalation route for all aspects relating to the packages of work within the programme.
- Lead and coordinate multi-functional teams to support successful programme delivery.
- Adapt plans and priorities within your area to address resource and operational challenges and maintain delivery against programme objectives.

Position Qualifications
- At least 5 years’ experience in project or programme management, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience of planning, monitoring, and controlling projects or programmes against schedule, cost, quality, scope, benefits, and risk.
- Experience of managing integrated plans and schedules, budgets, resources, and delivery performance.
- Experience of leading and coordinating teams and stakeholders to deliver defined outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of project/programme management principles, governance, and delivery disciplines.
- Ability to operate autonomously within defined standards and policies, escalating where the impact is broader or the subject matter is more complex.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving capability, with the ability to adapt plans and priorities in response to resource and operational challenges.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience of leading multi-functional teams.
- Experience of delivering projects or programmes within Manufacturing Operations or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Services, and Planning & Control functions.
- Experience of managing internal and external providers or contractors.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards an appropriate professional qualification.
- Knowledge or experience of S9, Facilities Project Model, and/or PMO governance.
