The Role and the Team
Blue Light Card is entering an ambitious period of growth, and Retail Media is a big part of how we plan to get there. The team is building a new advertising platform, alongside the data and reporting foundations that will help us understand what's working and where to go next.
This is an eight-month fixed-term contract for a Programme Manager to bring structure and momentum to both pieces of work. Working closely with the Retail Media leadership team, you'll own the programme plan, keep sequencing and dependencies clear, and help data, engineering, product and commercial colleagues move forward together.
You don't need to be a technical specialist, but you'll understand how engineering and product teams work best side by side, and you'll be comfortable bringing your own best practice to an environment where some frameworks are still taking shape.
What You'll Do
- Own and maintain the end-to-end programme plan across the ads platform build and the data and reporting workstream, keeping milestones and owners clear.
- Manage sequencing and dependencies across data, internal and external engineering, product and commercial teams, so everyone stays aligned as work moves forward.
- Bring engineering and product together to keep delivery moving, working closely with Technical Product Managers and squad leads at sprint level.
- Spot risks, blockers and delivery gaps early and step in to resolve them, so issues are managed rather than discovered late.
- Build a single source of truth for programme status, supported by a steady cadence of planning, tracking and reporting that gives senior stakeholders clear visibility, and helps link what we deliver to the outcomes it drives.
- Support launch readiness for key releases, and help commercial colleagues understand delivery timings so partners can be onboarded onto the platform with confidence.
- Use AI to improve how the programme runs, from structuring plans to automating reporting and tracking, and support teams to adopt it in their own workflows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Bring
- Proven experience delivering complex, multi-team programmes, with a clear grasp of sequencing and dependencies, and the ability to turn ambiguous strategy into clear, structured plans.
- A background working across product, engineering, data and functional business teams in an Agile setting, with a practical sense of how to help them move together, and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Skill in coordinating delivery across blended teams, including internal squads working with external suppliers or vendors.
- Excellent stakeholder skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across functions, including at senior leadership level.
- A highly organised approach, focused on outcomes over activity, and comfort in fast-moving environments where governance and frameworks are still being built.
- Experience in a scale-up or growth environment, or in retail media or ad tech, would be a bonus, though it's not essential.
- Familiarity with using AI tools to improve programme planning and reporting would also be nice to have.
