About the role
We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager or Programme Director to lead a complex platform migration programme for a major insurance client.
This is a high-profile role supporting the migration of a legacy insurance platform onto a modern cloud-based environment. The programme sits across multiple stakeholder groups, including an insurance provider, a major banking partner, internal technology teams, and senior business stakeholders.
The client needs someone who can bring structure, confidence, and commercial judgement to a complex delivery environment. This is less about being the deepest technical expert in the room and more about being the person who can bring people with them, manage senior relationships, ask the right questions, and keep delivery moving.
You will act as the bridge between the insurance organisation and its strategic partner, helping to strengthen programme governance, improve stakeholder confidence, and ensure the migration is delivered with clarity and control.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading a complex insurance platform migration from legacy technology onto a cloud-based environment
- Managing programme delivery across business, technology, operational, and third-party teams
- Acting as a senior client-facing lead, building confidence with senior stakeholders and external partners
- Providing structure, governance, and delivery discipline across a complex programme landscape
- Translating between business, insurance, and technology stakeholders to keep priorities aligned
- Managing risks, issues, dependencies, plans, governance forums, and senior reporting
- Supporting the client in strengthening its delivery capability and stakeholder engagement
- Ensuring delivery remains commercially aware, outcome-focused, and well-controlled
- Helping teams make practical decisions in an environment with competing priorities and senior visibility

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You will suit this role if you are calm, credible, and comfortable stepping into complexity.
You do not need to be a hands-on architect, but you do need enough technology delivery experience to understand the moving parts, challenge plans, and keep teams honest. The real value is in your ability to manage senior stakeholders, bring order to a messy programme, and build confidence across the client and partner landscape.
You will need strong insurance literacy, good commercial judgement, and the confidence to represent the client well in a senior, externally facing environment.
Why this role?
This is a chance to step into a visible, business-critical platform migration programme at a key stage of delivery.
You will play a central role in improving programme control, strengthening engagement with senior stakeholders, and supporting a major insurance transformation. For someone who enjoys complex, client-facing delivery work, this is a proper grown-up programme role, with plenty to get your teeth into.
How to apply
Please apply with your CV, highlighting your insurance experience, programme delivery background, and any relevant platform migration, cloud migration, or legacy modernisation work.
