The role sits within the Programme Funding & Partnerships Team which has three separate functions that the postholder will work closely with:
- Global Partnerships - supports a selection of priority sections in developing and enhancing their High Value fundraising programmes and focuses on securing income from selected Global Trust and Foundations directly for the International Secretariat.

- To develop proposals and reports and work closely with AIUK, AI Canada and AIC to ensure they receive the information as required for reporting back at Trustee meetings. To provide AIUK and AIC on an ad hoc basis with updates and fundraising materials for projects identified as funded by assessment grants. Where requested to attend Trustee meetings and coordinate IS teams to present their work.
- To work with the International Finance team preparing relevant financial reports for the Trustees and IS senior leadership, ensuring accountability to donors. Maintaining and carrying out budgetary control tasks, including accurate tracking of income against targets. Working with International Finance to prepare budget forecasts; processing and monitoring of income and expenditure; monitoring of monthly financial reports provided by Management Accounts in order to identify and resolve budget problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
