Programme Planner
Are you an experienced Project Controls professional with a strong background in planning and scheduling within complex engineering, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects? We are seeking a Programme Planner to join a major project team, supporting the successful planning, scheduling, monitoring, and delivery of large-scale programme activities. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project where you will play a key role in driving schedule performance, forecasting project outcomes, and providing valuable project controls insight.
The Role
As Programme Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analysing project schedules while working closely with engineering, construction, commercial, and project management teams. You will ensure that project plans accurately reflect scope, resources, milestones, and execution strategies, enabling effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and reviewing integrated project schedules.
- Establishing logical sequences and interfaces across multiple disciplines.
- Identifying critical path activities and monitoring schedule performance.
- Producing short-term and long-term planning schedules.
- Monitoring progress against programme baselines and highlighting risks, delays, and mitigation measures.
- Performing schedule analysis, resource loading, manpower planning, and forecasting activities.
- Supporting cost and trend analysis through the integration of planning and project controls data.
- Preparing schedule commentary, progress reports, and management presentations.
- Coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives and delivery milestones.
- Supporting project controls reporting, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assisting with proposal development, contract support, and project control methodologies.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of project controls processes, tools, and performance measurement systems.

Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you should have:
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling on complex engineering, construction, energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and analysing project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of project controls principles, including planning, scheduling, forecasting, progress measurement, and reporting.
- Experience identifying critical paths, schedule risks, and recovery opportunities.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar planning software.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and reporting tools.
- The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of engineering and construction project delivery practices.
- Understanding of cost control, estimating, forecasting, and resource management processes.
- Familiarity with project controls performance measurement and reporting systems.
- Awareness of current industry trends and best practices within project controls and planning.
