Are you a brilliant journalist and creative producer who thrives on breaking news, big interviews and live television?
CGTN Europe is looking for ambitious, energetic and news-obsessed Producers to join our new daily Talk Shows.
This is a role for someone who knows how to spot a great story, find the right voices and turn the day’s biggest issues into compelling television.
Three days a week, the show will focus on the biggest stories in business and finance; the other two will take a deep dive into the day’s key geopolitical developments, so we’re looking for candidates comfortable working across both areas.
The role
You’ll be at the heart of the programme, working across geopolitics, business, economics and current affairs. You’ll help shape the show and make sure every programme is relevant, authoritative and engaging.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Generating and developing original story ideas, programme and digital content.
- Researching, booking and preparing high-profile guests, experts and contributors.
- Producing live and pre-recorded interviews.
- Working closely with presenters, editors, reporters and the wider production team.
- Responding quickly and creatively to developing stories.
- Writing scripts, questions, links and briefing notes.
- Finding fresh angles on the stories everyone is talking about.
- Helping shape the running order and editorial direction of each programme.
- Delivering accurate, dynamic content to tight deadlines — often under pressure.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll be a confident, curious and creative producer with a strong understanding of the news cycle and a genuine interest in the stories shaping the world.
You’ll have:
- Proven experience producing news, current affairs, business or live programming.
- Excellent editorial judgement and a sharp eye for a strong story.
- Genuine interest for international business and political news.
- Exceptional research, writing and communication skills.
- The ability to secure and prepare compelling guests.
- A calm head when news breaks and priorities change at speed.
- The confidence to work with presenters and senior editorial teams.
- A passion for live broadcasting and a desire to make great content.
Most importantly, you’ll bring ideas, energy and ambition. You won’t simply react to the news — you’ll help decide what the conversation should be.
