Programme Support Officer - Sustainable Water & Nature Programme

Location: Flexible across Wales (Hybrid Working Available)

Pay Rate: £17.54 per hour

Contract: Until 31st March 2027

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (37 hours)

The Role

We're recruiting for a Programme Support Officer to provide high-level administrative support to a major Sustainable Water & Nature Programme within a public sector organisation in Wales. This role will play a key part in supporting programme activities, coordinating stakeholder meetings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring programme documentation is managed to a high standard. The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to programme teams.
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder sessions.
  • Prepare agendas and supporting documentation.
  • Produce detailed and accurate meeting minutes, capturing key discussions, decisions, and actions.
  • Maintain programme records, trackers, and documentation.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and programme updates.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the organisation to gather information and ensure actions are progressed.
  • Provide general programme and governance support as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have either:

  • Extensive administrative experience within a busy office, programme support, or project support environment; OR
  • An academic background or knowledge in environmental science, sustainability, water management, ecology, biodiversity, conservation, or a related discipline.

You will also have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience arranging meetings and managing competing priorities.
  • The ability to produce accurate and detailed minutes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
