Job Introduction
Salary: £31,736.51 full-time equivalent (FTE) per annum. Salary and London Allowance (£4,613.61) will be paid pro rata based on 22 hours per week
Contract Type: 23 Months Fixed Term Contract.
Location: Force Headquarters London
Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available

The Opportunity
British Transport Police have an opportunity for a Programme Support Officer (National Police Programmes) to join the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Less Lethal Weapons Portfolio. As a Programme Support Officer with BTP, you will provide programme coordination and business support across a range of national policing workstreams, helping to deliver activity relating to Less Lethal Weapons, Taser, Counter Drones and associated capabilities. Working with portfolio leads, subject matter experts and key stakeholders, you will play a key role in coordinating programme activity, monitoring progress, supporting governance arrangements and ensuring the effective delivery of national priorities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinating programme activity, maintaining documentation, tracking actions and monitoring progress against agreed milestones.
- Supporting the preparation of reports, briefing papers and governance updates for senior stakeholders and decision-making forums.
- Working with internal and external partners to gather information, coordinate activity and support delivery across multiple workstreams.
- Undertaking research and information gathering to support programme development, assurance activities and future capability initiatives.
What You'll Bring To The Team
- Experience supporting projects, programmes or portfolios within a complex operational environment and coordinating activity across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills with experience producing reports, briefings, presentations or governance documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, alongside strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and relationship-building skills
