Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council

Fixed term contract to 1 November 2028 (or available as a secondment opportunity for internal applicants).

Sandwell Council is seeking a highly organised and proactive Regeneration Programme Support Officer to join the Regeneration & Growth Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-profile regeneration programmes that are helping to transform communities across the Borough.

About the Role

In this varied role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality administrative and project support, including secretariat support, across a range of regeneration programmes and projects.
  • Co-ordinate meetings, events, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Produce accurate reports, presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence and project documentation.
  • Maintain project records, monitoring information and support programme reporting requirements.
  • Communicate project and programme progress through reports, presentations, website content and stakeholder updates
  • Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including elected members, senior officers, partner organisations and funding bodies.

Essential Requirement

  • Educated to Level 3 standard (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a busy office environment, providing administrative or project support.
  • Experience of project working and supporting the delivery of services
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and managing correspondence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use financial management systems such as Oracle.

These are exciting times for Sandwell. We have an ambitious regeneration pipeline supported by significant Government investment, including the Towns Fund, Levelling Up Partnership and Pride in Place Programme. Some of these programmes are nearing completion, and others have just begun.

As part of the Programme Management Office Team, you will play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of these high-profile regeneration programmes while helping to monitor performance across the wider regeneration portfolio.

  • Hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Closing Date: midnight on Wednesday 28 October, 2026
  • Provisional interview date: week commencing 9 November
