Purpose of the role
The Programmes & Engagement Lead will be the operational lead for participant engagement and programme delivery, ensuring young people have a coherent and high quality journey across Blueprint for All’s digital and face to face programmes.
The postholder will lead our approach to young person engagement, including participation, co production, outreach, recruitment, mentoring and My Blueprint for All. They will ensure young people are actively involved in shaping and improving our programmes and that engagement approaches are inclusive, accessible and responsive to participant needs.
The role will coordinate programme delivery, facilitate activity where required and maintain strong day to day relationships with programme partners, including schools, universities, employers and community organisations. The postholder will use participant insight, programme data and delivery learning to strengthen engagement, improve participant experience and increase the reach and impact of our work.
Key responsibilities
Programme delivery and coordination
- Develop and maintain programme plans, delivery schedules, trackers and operational processes, ensuring roles, responsibilities and deadlines are clear.
- Lead the day to day coordination and delivery of a portfolio of programmes and engagement activity, online and face to face, ensuring delivery is high quality, timely and aligned with agreed outcomes and funder requirements.
- Coordinate delivery and progress against agreed milestones, outputs and KPIs and escalating risks or issues where appropriate.
- Support the mobilisation and implementation of new programmes and engagement activity, including activity delivered through our digital platform.
- Monitor programme budgets and expenditure, maintaining accurate records and supporting forecasting and value for money.
- Facilitate workshops, events and programme activity where required, supporting consistent quality across delivery.
- Ensure programme activity follows organisational policies, safeguarding requirements and agreed quality standards.

Young person engagement and partnerships
- Develop and embed meaningful participation and co production approaches across programmes, ensuring young people have opportunities to shape, influence and improve our work.
- Lead outreach and recruitment approaches to strengthen participation and reach young people who may face barriers to accessing our programmes.
- Ensure mentoring, engagement and My Blueprint for All are effectively integrated across programmes and participant journeys.
- Manage day to day relationships with schools, universities, employers, community organisations and other programme partners.
- Identify and develop opportunities that create meaningful education, employment, mentoring, work experience and networking opportunities for participants.
- Contribute programme information, participant insight, outcomes and evidence of impact to funding applications and wider organisational activity.
Programme quality and continuous improvement
- Identify, test, and support new programme models and delivery approaches that respond to emerging participant needs, digital ambitions and funding opportunities.
- Ensure My Blueprint for All is embedded within programme design, delivery, and participant journeys to maximise engagement, accessibility, and impact (including, onboarding young people, connecting our hybrid offering, developing content, monitoring engagement and feedback).
- Ensure programmes remain inclusive, participant centred, and responsive to needs of participants, including improving accessibility across our platform.
Impact, data and reporting
- Ensure programme and engagement data is collected consistently, accurately and in line with Blueprint for All’s monitoring and evaluation framework.
Safeguarding and risk
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are embedded within day-to-day programme, mentoring and engagement activity.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with organisational procedures.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments and delivery procedures are in place for programmes.

Experience required
- Strong experience coordinating or leading the delivery of programmes, projects or services within a charity, education, youth, community or mission-led setting.
- Experience engaging young people or programme participants, including outreach, recruitment, retention or participation activity.
- Experience of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), including using programme data, participant feedback and qualitative evidence to understand outcomes and improve delivery.
- Experience contributing to monitoring, evaluation and funder or programme reporting.
- Experience using digital platforms, CRM systems or other systems to support programme or participant engagement.
Person specification
Essential
- Strong coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams.
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills with young people, colleagues and external partners.
- Strong understanding of participant engagement and inclusive practice, particularly when working with people from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds.
- Confident facilitation and delivery skills.
- Alignment with Blueprint for All’s mission and values.
Desirable
- Experience of mentoring programmes or coordinating mentors and mentees.
- Experience working with schools, universities, employers or community organisations.
- Experience of CRM, digital engagement or online learning/development platforms.
- Line management or staff supervision experience.
Additional requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for programme delivery, facilitation, outreach and partner activity.
- Willingness to work outside standard office hours where programme activity requires it.
- The post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
