Job Spec:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience as a Progress OpenEdge DBA in production environments.
- Hands-on expertise in Progress database architecture, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience handling database failures and high-priority production incidents.
- Strong knowledge of Progress database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with database locks, transactions, indexes, storage, memory, and resource utilization.
- Expertise in backup, restore, disaster recovery, and replication processes.
- Good understanding of Progress ABL and SQL for application and query analysis.
- Experience working on Linux and/or Windows environments.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and scripting using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in an incident, change, and problem management environment.
