Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

As a Progression Coach, you'll make a real difference to the lives of young people primarily across the north of Hampshire. You'll support young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or need additional help planning their next steps, empowering them to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.

Working as part of Hampshire Futures, you'll build trusted relationships, provide personalised advice and guidance, and help young people access opportunities that lead to positive and sustainable outcomes. This is a rewarding role where your support, encouragement and expertise will help young people build confidence and take meaningful steps towards their future.

What you’ll do

  • Manage a caseload of young people, providing tailored information, advice and guidance on education, training and employment pathways.
  • Support young people to overcome barriers, develop action plans and progress towards positive post-16 destinations.
  • Deliver practical career development support, including job searches, applications, CV writing and other employability activities.
  • Work with schools, colleges, employers, training providers and support services to help young people access appropriate opportunities and progress towards their goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor progress and contribute to continuous service improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths, or equivalent GCSE qualifications.
  • Experience of supporting, coaching or advising young people to achieve personal, educational or career goals.
  • Knowledge of post-16 pathways available to young people in Hampshire, and the barriers some young people face in making successful post-16 transitions.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, organisational and digital skills.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people to achieve successful outcomes and progress towards their goals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
