Job Title: Progressive Band 5-6 Specialist Diagnostic Radiographer
Contract Type: Permanent

Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen to join this well-established, friendly, hardworking team of over 80 Radiographers working within the Cross Sectional Imaging Department (CSI) at the Trust. As we continue to expand our services, we are seeking enthusiastic, talented radiographers interested in training and working in CT, MRI, and Neuroangiography.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The successful post holder will be a key member of the cross-sectional imaging team, with a high level of competence in the specialist modalities of MRI, CT scanning and Neuro Interventional Angiography. We have a well-developed and supportive induction process. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, professionalism and a flexible approach to working to support the MRI, CT and Neuroangiography Imaging Leads in delivering an efficient and effective service. As a major trauma centre, with a large inpatient population, we provide a 24/7 service and require flexibility to cover all shifts.
You will be working on the Southampton General Hospital site, Royal South Hants Community Diagnostic Hub and rotating off-site in the Southampton City area, providing a CT imaging service for targeted lung health check screening.

- 2 Siemens Vida 3T MRI scanners
- 4 Siemens Definition Edge Plus dual energy CT scanners
- 1 Siemens Drive Dual Source CT scanner
- 1 Siemens GoTop CT lung screening relocatable unit
- 1 CANON Aquilion Serve SP
- Siemens Artis Zee Bi-plane Neuro-Interventional Angiography suite
- Siemens Artis Zee Single plane Neuro-Interventional Angiography Suite

We are continually developing our specialist imaging services within our three modalities, and postgraduate training and skills development is actively encouraged.
This role is subject to a probation period and a competency-based sign-off process covering CT, MR, and Neuro Angio. Staff will be supported to achieve competence in all three modalities during the first 6 - 7 months of starting in the role. The role requires demonstrating competence in all three areas.

Qualifications, Knowledge, And Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous imaging experience within specialist area
- Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
- Current HCPC registration or pending within 6 months
- Evidence of personal and professional development
- Sound knowledge of all areas of Governance including H&S, COSHH, Manual Handling and MHRA
- Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information
- Able to be flexible and work according to the needs of the patient and service
- Evidence of teamwork
- Capable of attaining relevant specialist competencies within agreed timeframe
- Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information

- Evidence of post graduate imaging experience within specialist area.
