The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Finance department here at EnerMech for a Management Accountant. This is an immediate requirement to join our busy team here in Aberdeen on a permanent basis.

The role will be accountable for the financial control of assigned projects, working hand-in-hand with the Project Manager to secure and enhance the "As Mobilised" forecast Gross Profit of the project and outperforming the "As Mobilised" forecast cash curve if applicable. You will be expected to provide clear visibility and control of project working capital including, Accrued Income, Account Receivables, WIP, GRNI and Accounts Payable.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and approve project costs in line with forecast costs and coding incl. POs for purchases & equipment hire and expenses (employees & contractors) and ensure compliance with group policy. ((Dependant on the visibility to the PC prior raising the PO)
  • Analyse and follow-up timesheet entries as required (employees & contractors)
  • Validate supplier invoices where 3-way match is not in place incl. contractor invoices
  • Manage active job task codes in line with the phase of the project and liaise with the SSC to resolve project accounting / recording issues
  • Monitor commitments and accruals and track contingencies, provisions and management reserves
  • Support the Business Line with the consolidation of projects for profitability reporting, conduct variance analysis, commentary and support the Business Line leads on query resolution
  • For month end reporting, provide supporting commentary and analysis for review with Geography FDs. Identify and highlight financial trends, providing actionable insights to support decision-making
  • Review regular Business Line/Service Line/Jobs profitability reports produced by SSC R2R team and support with query resolution related to the production of regular reports
  • Execute financial close-out including closing all job task numbers, delivering final invoices, cost reconciliation, reporting and archiving of all financial documentation

You Are

Essential:

  • Secondary education Higher qualifications
  • CA/CIMA equivalent
  • Previous experience in a business partnering role in a medium sized business
  • Wide knowledge of practical daily operations of an accounting team
  • Experience working with integrated ERP business management systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel

Preferred:

  • Further education qualifications
  • Exposure to fast paced organizational change

Due to the urgency of this role, ideally we are looking for a candidate who is immediately available or can be available within 2 weeks.
