We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to support us on a short-term project.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reconstruct monthly management accounts from incomplete financial records
  • Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements
  • Convert cash-based accounting information to an accrual accounting basis
  • Review and calculate work in progress (WIP) across live projects
  • Analyse project revenues, costs, margins and profitability
  • Reconcile accounting records to bank statements and underlying documentation
  • Review and calculate accruals and prepayments
  • Reconcile trade debtors and creditors
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis as required

About you:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Has experience working within a project-based business
  • Ideally has experience within construction, M&E, engineering or contracting
  • Has strong knowledge of WIP and project accounting
  • Is highly proficient in Excel
  • Is comfortable working with incomplete or imperfect accounting records and reconstructing the underlying financial position
  • Can work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
