Assistant Project Accountant

Location: Gloucester Working Pattern: Hybrid Employment Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive + bonus + benefits

ARCA Consulting is supporting a growing engineering and infrastructure business in the appointment of an Assistant Project Accountant to join its Commercial & Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or finance professional with up to two years’ experience looking to develop a career in project accounting within the engineering, construction, utilities or infrastructure sectors.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Commercial, Project Managers, and Finance team, supporting:

  • Project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Client invoicing and applications for payment
  • Cost monitoring and project profitability
  • Management reporting, KPIs and cash-flow forecasting
  • Month-end and year-end accounting activities
  • Project administration and financial analysis

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience within a finance, accounting, or commercial role.
  • Numerate, analytical, and highly organised.
  • Detail-focused with strong Excel skills.
  • Confident communicating with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and keen to develop.

Experience with Xero, AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA studies, or within engineering, construction, utilities, or infrastructure would be advantageous but not essential.
