Project Accountant / Finance Business Partner

£75,000 - £85,000 + Benefits | 12 Month FTC with a view to becoming permanent | Hybrid (1 day per week in South Manchester)

We're partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed business to recruit a Project Accountant / Finance Business Partner into a newly created role. Following a recent acquisition and with further growth plans ahead, this position offers the opportunity to play a key role in a business undergoing significant change.

This is not a traditional reporting role. Instead, you'll sit at the heart of a variety of strategic projects, supporting acquisitions, driving improvements in financial reporting and data quality, and partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

For someone who enjoys variety, change and working in a fast-paced environment, this is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact.

The Opportunity

As Project Accountant, you'll support a broad range of finance and business-critical initiatives across the Group. You'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial information, supporting acquisition and integration activity, and helping ensure the business has the insight and data needed to support future growth.

With further acquisition activity anticipated, a strong project pipeline, and increasing demands from investors and senior leadership, this role offers significant scope for development and visibility across the business. Whilst initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, there is a genuine desire for the role to become permanent given the anticipated volume of future projects and long-term growth plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
