📢 We’re hiring: Project Accountant | Blackburn

Are you a Project Accountant with strong IFRS 15 and project/contract accounting experience who wants real ownership rather than simply maintaining an existing process?

As Maintel continues its Finance transformation, we’re looking for a Project Accountant to join our Management Accounts function and help shape how project revenue is reported across our £93m AIM-listed telecoms group.

This is a genuinely hands-on role with end-to-end ownership of our non-recurring project accounting, covering project P&L, WIP, revenue recognition, deferred and accrued revenue and overall project profitability.

💼 What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning project P&L, revenue, costs and WIP across non-recurring contracts
  • Applying IFRS 15 percentage-of-completion principles and ensuring accurate revenue recognition
  • Managing deferred and accrued revenue positions and project balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing monthly project and portfolio reporting, including clear commentary on revenue, margin, trends and variances
  • Partnering closely with Project Managers to understand cost-to-complete, project performance and identify potential margin or delivery risks early
  • Working with Billing and Credit Control to ensure invoicing aligns with contractual milestones
  • Supporting forecasting, FP&A and wider project analysis
  • Helping us strengthen and improve our project accounting processes, controls and reporting

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
