Project Administration Engineer

Location: West London

Our Client is a marine power pioneer, leading the development of advanced technology for commercial shipping and maritime applications.

The Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Administration Engineer to join their London-based team. This role plays a key part in supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering projects by providing project coordination, control, and administrative support across multidisciplinary teams.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse maritime engineering projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive innovation in the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Engineering Office with day-to-day Project Control activity and liaise with Project Managers to deliver Project Control information.
  • Act as an administrative operational link in both project settings and company-related activities between technical delivery and project management.
  • Coordination of project activities, including scheduling of meetings, recording minutes, managing project documentation, and maintaining project databases.
  • Maintain record of project risks, involving recording of issues, changes, and lessons learned.
  • Be able to meet with a wide variety of maritime and nuclear industry stakeholders to document tasks that can be conducted and subsequently delivered, as well as project updates and relevant information.
  • Liaise with Company accounts to develop, implement, and maintain procedures for Project Control, budgeting, cost tracking, and invoice processing.
  • Be able to maintain project schedules, assist in tracking project costs, and report information per Company standard to Clients, Suppliers, or Internal Management.
  • Support expediting supplier/vendor data and equipment documentation.
  • Track actions arising from design reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and technical meetings. Ability to understand analysis of important project criteria.
  • Track Technical Queries, RFIs, and concessions.
  • Control technical documentation and manage revision status.
  • Maintain document registers aligned with the applicable regulatory requirements (Class, Statutory, etc.).
  • Support submission of documentation to Flag State, Classification Societies, Nuclear Regulators, clients, or suppliers as required.
  • Ensure records align with Company standards and contractual requirements.
  • Support internal/external audit readiness.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of Company procedures within the remit of a Project Administration Engineer.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to document project requirements.
  • Promote all aspects of the company’s Power’s skills and experience and embody company values.
  • Ensure all Project work is performed, reviewed, checked, and approved in accordance with the engineering procedures or when specified, to a Project Quality Plan.
  • Any duties as required by senior management within the remit of a Project Administration Engineer.
  • Availability to travel to the US/UK or other international locations.
  • Manage own continued professional development.

  • BEng (Hons), MEng, or MSc (or equivalent) in an engineering field (e.g., Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering), or other relevant subject.
  • Experience in a similar project administration, project coordination, or project control role.
  • UK citizenship or a valid UK visa permitting full-time employment, with citizenship from DOE Part 810 authorised countries only.

Skills / Competencies

  • Familiarity with software 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCad, Inventor) as well as specialist analysis toolsets (SOLIDWORKS) to enable document control process.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, Sharepoint, Monday.com, etc.
  • Strong document control and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Clear communication in technically complex environments.
