An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Estates and Facilities Department for an experienced Project and Programme Manager to join the CAPITAL Programmes Section, based at Headquarters in Sheffield.

Project and Programme Manager
Location: SYFR Headquarters, Eyre Street, Sheffield S1 3FG
Hours: Full Time 37 Hours per week (Flexi Time)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £44,075-£47,181 per annum (Grade 9) *To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026.
The overall purpose of the role
The overall purpose of the role will be to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all property-related programmes and individual projects, delivered through government frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Producing planning and project documentation from the initial business case through to project delivery and handover.
- Evaluating and ensuring value for money is achieved via the framework agreements.
- Reporting on project status and communicating to senior stakeholders via formal reporting processes.
- Implementing best practice across the team in project delivery.
- Acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders.
- Holding responsibility for project completion and handover.
- Ensuring that Health & Safety and projects run smoothly and in line with budget control.
- Being the lead Project Manager on CAPITAL programming workstreams and the delivery of planned annual estates projects.

Requirements
- Relevant project management qualification.
- Extensive experience working in live environments.
- Sound knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation, Building Regulations, Asset Management principles, and CAPITAL Budget/Programmes management.

Salary and Benefits
- New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis.
- 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays.
- Annual leave increases after 5 years service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days.
- Generous flexi time attendance scheme.
- Flexi time can be accrued with a potential of up to 13 days to be taken within a year.
- Auto-enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme with contributions ranging from 5.5% to 12.5%.
