Project Architect / Experienced Part II Assistant
Nest Design & Build | Bristol
We are looking for a talented Project Architect or experienced Part II Architectural Assistant to join our growing team in Bristol.
Nest is an integrated architecture, interiors and construction company specialising predominantly in high-quality private residential projects. We build what we design, so our focus is on producing high-quality, considered and fully coordinated architecture that works not only on the drawing board, but through detailing, costing and construction on site.
Our architectural team works closely with private clients, external consultants and our own in-house construction team throughout the process, providing a level of involvement in the delivery of projects that isn't always possible within a traditional architectural practice.
We are open to candidates at either Project Architect or experienced Part II level, with the position and level of responsibility tailored to the experience of the successful candidate.

What we're looking for
- Strong working knowledge of Revit, with demonstrable experience using it in practice
- Experience working on private residential projects
- Confidence working directly with private clients
- Experience coordinating with construction teams, structural engineers and other external consultants
- Good working knowledge of the UK planning system and Building Regulations
- Strong design, technical and detailing skills
- An understanding of the importance of producing accurate, coordinated and buildable information
- Ability to manage workloads, work to deadlines and deliver agreed project targets
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a wider team
- A proactive and motivated approach to projects and problem-solving
For Project Architect applicants, we would expect greater experience in independently managing projects, coordinating consultants and taking responsibility for project delivery.

Working at Nest
We work differently from a traditional architectural practice. Our architecture, interiors, kitchen design and construction teams work collaboratively, meaning the relationship between design and construction is central to how we work.
Because we ultimately build many of the projects we design, our architectural team remains closely involved in how designs are developed, coordinated, costed, detailed and delivered. It provides an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of construction and to see the direct relationship between decisions made during design and their execution on site.
The role is based from our North Bristol office, but we encourage a healthy and flexible balance between working from home and working collaboratively in the office.
