Job Title: Project Buyer
Location: Glasgow
As one of the leading engineering companies, we help our customers with turnkey solutions in the field of substations for power transmission, renewable energy, and transportation.
As a single point of contact, we combine the accumulated know-how of key-suppliers and contractors so that customers benefit from efficient solutions, increased industrial productivity, and a lower environmental impact in a sustainable way.
This role sits within our Supply Chain Management team. The purpose of the role is to provide local purchase requirements, identifying local suppliers required for the day-to-day basis for site offices and site purchases and office purchases.
Key Areas of Responsibility (KARs)
- Local purchases and have an idea about the local supplier market in the UK.
- Negotiate with the suppliers, make agreements for long-term purchases.
- Coordinate with the key site stakeholders for site and office purchases, understand the requirements, and place orders within budget and cost.
- Onboard local suppliers and visit the sites if required.
- Checking if the invoice amount matches with PO milestone payment.

Competencies/ Skills Required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to think outside the box and move things forward using one's own initiative.
- Ability to drive through change.
- Focused on detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the business whilst embracing cultural differences.
Experience Required
- Experience in supply chain, accounting, or finance department.
- Good knowledge of Oracle as ERP system.
- Fluent in English.
