Project Coordinator / Project Manager

South Hampshire | Up to £50,000 DOE | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Coordinator / Project Manager to join a major international engineering and technical services organisation based in South Hampshire.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, with an immediate start preferred. The position offers the opportunity to manage technically interesting projects for customers across sectors including Defence, Aerospace and Rail, working closely with specialist engineering and testing teams.

The organisation operates within a highly technical, regulated environment, providing specialist testing, inspection and certification services to major UK and international customers.

The Role

You will take ownership of multiple customer projects at different stages of delivery, acting as the key link between the customer and internal technical teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects from initial customer requirements through to completion
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for customers throughout project delivery
  • Coordinating internal engineering, technical and testing teams
  • Managing project schedules, priorities, resources and deliverables
  • Monitoring project costs and ensuring work is delivered within agreed budgets
  • Supporting forecasting and project financial reporting
  • Providing customers with regular progress updates
  • Identifying and resolving potential delays, risks and delivery issues
  • Ensuring technical documentation and project deliverables are completed within agreed timescales
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects within a busy technical environment

About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates at either Project Coordinator or Project Manager level who have experience managing projects within an engineering, technical or similarly regulated environment.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous project coordination or project management experience
  • Experience working within Defence, Aerospace, Rail, engineering or another technical sector
  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing project schedules, costs and deliverables
  • The ability to coordinate technical teams and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A commercial understanding of project delivery and budget management

Previous experience within Defence or Aerospace would be particularly advantageous.

Experience within a testing laboratory, test house, engineering consultancy, certification or technical services environment would also be beneficial, although this is not essential.

Package

  • Salary up to £50,000, dependent on experience
  • 12-month fixed-term contract
  • Predominantly site-based in South Hampshire
  • Immediate/ASAP start preferred
  • Opportunity to work on technically complex projects across Defence, Aerospace and other engineering sectors
  • Exposure to specialist environmental, mechanical, vibration and shock testing projects

This would suit an experienced Project Coordinator or Project Manager looking to join a highly technical engineering environment where you can take ownership of customer projects and work closely with specialist engineering teams.
