The Vacancy
Our Actuarial Private team works with some of the UK's largest and most recognisable pension schemes, helping trustees and sponsoring employers navigate complex pensions challenges and deliver better outcomes for their members. Bringing together actuarial, investment, administration and technology expertise, the team supports clients on everything from funding and risk management to long-term strategic planning and scheme change projects. Their work is varied and rewarding, often involving collaboration across specialist teams to deliver practical solutions and exceptional client service.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our Project Management team on a fixed term (13 month) basis. This is an ideal role for someone looking to develop a career in project management, client delivery or pensions consulting. You'll work alongside experienced project professionals, supporting a wide range of client projects and helping to deliver high-quality outcomes for some of the UK's leading pension schemes.
What will your role look like?
As a Project Coordinator, you'll work closely with senior project managers, project managers and consultants across our Actuarial Private business unit to support the successful delivery of a wide range of client projects.
You'll help coordinate project activity, maintain project documentation, organise meetings and liaise with clients and colleagues to ensure projects remain on track. As you develop in the role, you'll gain exposure to project management methodologies, client relationship management and the operational aspects of delivering complex pensions projects.
Though this is a varied role, your key responsibilities will include:
- supporting project managers with the day-to-day coordination and delivery of client projects.
- assisting with the development and maintenance of project plans, trackers and other project documentation.
- monitoring project progress and ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
- liaising with clients, suppliers and colleagues to help progress actions and deliverables.
- organising project meetings, including preparing agendas, coordinating papers and producing meeting notes.
- maintaining project files and SharePoint sites, ensuring appropriate version control and document management processes are followed.
- providing project administration support during client and internal meetings.
- supporting client billing processes, including drafting invoices for review.
- contributing to process improvement activities and helping the team identify opportunities to work more efficiently.
- building your knowledge of project management tools, techniques and best practice.
- supporting knowledge sharing and collaboration across the wider project management team.
- adhering to the firm's Information Security standards, policies and procedures.
As your experience develops, there may also be opportunities to take ownership of smaller projects, support team initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of our project management function.
If you enjoy and have experience of the following, we think you'll love this opportunity:
- experience in a project coordination, project administration, operations or similar role, or relevant experience gained through internships, placements or graduate employment.
- excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- confidence communicating with a wide range of people, both verbally and in writing.
- a proactive approach and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
- the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- the ability to remain calm and organised when working to deadlines.
- a collaborative approach and enjoyment of working as part of a team.
- a desire to learn new skills and continue developing professionally.
- good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- an interest in project management, professional services or the pensions industry.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
