Project Co-ordinator
Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and rapidly growing software firm, who are looking to appoint an organised and proactive Project Co-ordinator to bring greater structure, visibility, and coordination to their software delivery function.
Working closely with the Head of Software Engineering, Senior Project Manager, Customer Support Teams, External Customers, and a team of 14 Software Developers, the successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating software projects and customer deployments.
The initial key focus of this role is focused on triaging across their stacked-out project portfolio, with responsibility for ensuring projects have clear ownership, defined scope, visible progress, and proactive communication.
You will help remove the scheduling, administration, and coordination burden from developers, allowing them to focus on software development, while ensuring customers receive clear and timely updates throughout the delivery process.
In return, you will receive a starting salary of £35,000, plus annual bonus, 6% employer pension, cycle to work scheme, car salary sacrifice scheme, private medical insurance (after probation) with genuine opportunities to progress through the business as the project department continues its growth.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within a software project management, project coordination, or project office environment
- Experience working within an Agile software development environment
- At least 2 years' experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools to track, triage, and report on project activity
- Confident and professional communication skills, with experience communicating with customers by phone, email, and video call
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear status reports, project documentation, simple specifications, and RAID/risk logs
- Experience working closely with developers or technical teams, with the ability to understand project status without requiring a deep technical background
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, actions, and competing priorities
- Experience coordinating resources, schedules, and project dependencies
- Effective use of AI tools to support project coordination, administration, reporting, and day-to-day productivity

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and maintain visibility of active software projects and support work using Jira, Azure DevOps, and other relevant systems
- Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding project scheduling, progress updates, and information gathering
- Coordinate requirements-gathering activities, including arranging scoping calls, chasing information, drafting simple project specifications, and obtaining customer sign-off
- Coordinate customer deployment schedules, working closely with customers and the support team to plan, sequence, and track software releases into live environments
- Maintain accurate customer configuration and software version records within the internal CMDB
- Maintain visibility of development team capacity, identifying resource conflicts and escalating these to the Director of Software
- Proactively monitor project deadlines, identifying projects at risk of delay, and escalating issues before they impact customers
- Produce weekly RAG status reports, delivery metrics, and maintain live risk and issue logs
- Manage project administration, including meeting notes, action tracking, change requests, and basic scope-change documentation
- Work alongside the Senior Project Manager, applying established project management templates and processes to smaller projects
- Identify projects that become large, complex, or high-risk and escalate them to the Senior Project Manager rather than managing them independently
