Project Commercial Director North West | Major Infrastructure Projects
The Opportunity Build Search has been exclusively retained by one of the UK's most successful and respected main contractors to appoint two Project Commercial Directors within their Infrastructure division, based in the North West. With a significant pipeline of secured work, the business is continuing to invest in its senior leadership team and is looking for experienced commercial leaders capable of delivering some of the UK's largest and most technically complex infrastructure projects. This is a rare opportunity to join a cash-rich business with a long-term order book, working on projects valued between £100 million and £1.5 billion.
The Role Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will provide commercial leadership and governance throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to project delivery. Key responsibilities include:
Leading the commercial function on major infrastructure projects valued between £100m and £1.5bn under NEC forms of contract. Providing commercial governance, strategic direction and robust challenge across all stages of project delivery. Leading commercial input during work-winning, tendering and pre-construction activities from Stage 1 design through to mobilisation. Working closely alongside the Finance Lead, Operations Director and wider Project Senior Leadership Team. Leading, mentoring and developing high-performing commercial teams including Commercial Managers, Managing Quantity Surveyors, Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors. Driving effective commercial risk and opportunity management, ensuring margin enhancement opportunities are identified and realised. Maintaining strong financial control and governance, ensuring compliance with business and project financial objectives. Supporting collaborative relationships with both public and private sector clients throughout project delivery.

This opportunity sits within their Infrastructure division, operating in a specialist market delivering nationally significant projects across the North of England. The business is financially strong, has an exceptional leadership team and continues to secure major frameworks and long-term programmes of work.

You will ideally demonstrate: Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership position, either at project or business unit level. Experience leading large commercial teams on complex, high-value projects. NEC contract knowledge is advantageous but not essential. Strong leadership, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills. Why Apply?
