About the Role

The Project Contract Manager (PrCM), based in Dublin, plays a pivotal role within the project team. Reporting closely to the Project Manager, Project Finance Manager, and other key stakeholders, you will ensure clear communication of contractual obligations, implement proactive contract and claim management strategies, and mitigate risks while identifying opportunities to align with Alstom’s business objectives.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of contract variations, change requests, and contract amendments, including extension of time (EoT) claims preparation.
  • Robust record-keeping, structured claims processes, and defensible claim documentation.
  • Meeting commercial, contractual, and financial obligations while ensuring stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead contract management activities while proposal bespoke support strategies tailored to the project.
  • Apply and enforce Alstom’s Contract Management process and governance standards across project activities.
  • Contribute to Contract Deliverables Requirements List (CDRL), ensuring timely, accurate communication and updates.

Risk & Claims Management

  • Analyze contracts to establish and implement a Contract Management Strategy.
  • Monitor adherence to project schedules, contractual milestones, and insurance validity.
  • Develop and enforce project-specific commercial procedures for variational processes, insurance, claims, and documentation.

stakeholder engagements

  • Engage with corporate Documentation Controller to manage reliable document filing and access.
  • Coordinate with Project Directors, Finance, Engineering, Sourcing, and Planning teams to address risks, claim opportunities, and maximize contractual benefits.
  • Provide proactive consultancy on complex issues, evidence-gathering, and strategies aligned with contract terms and business objectives.

Dispute Resolution & Collaboration

  • Support Dispute Arbitration Boards (DAB) with documentation, evidence gathering, and active participation.
  • Train and mentor Project Contract Managers, Contract Administrators, and junior teams on contract and claim management.

Communication & Training

  • Prepare contractual clarity statements tailored to leadership queries.
  • Train cross-functional teams on contract and claim management best practices.
  • Lead contemporaneous records and correspondence while providing feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Educational Background

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Law, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Technical, or Business Studies.

Work Experience

  • Substantial experience in Contract/Claim Management or Project Management preferred.
  • Proven capability to interpret, apply, and justify contractual documentation, scheduling, and specifications.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders, draft reports, and negotiate results.
  • Expertise in project financials and commercial impact assessment.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems while balancing competing priorities efficiently.
  • Proven compliance adherence in procedures, insurance/claims recognition, extension of time claim processes, and DAB-related tasks.
  • Strong teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and digital/software proficiency (MS Office, project management tools, contract management systems).
  • Flexibility for 10-30% travel and ability to adapt to industry advancements.
