Are you a Project Controls professional looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting for multiple Project Controls positions across Bristol, Cardiff, and the wider South West, supporting major infrastructure, transport, utilities, defence, and other complex projects and programmes.
We are looking to speak with professionals at different stages of their Project Controls careers — from early-career Project Controls Engineers through to experienced Senior Project Controls Engineers and specialists. Whether your expertise is in Planning, Cost, Risk, Digital Controls, or General Project Controls, there are opportunities available to match your experience and career ambitions.
Multiple Project Controls Opportunities Available
Project Controls – Planning & Scheduling
We are looking for Project Controls Engineers and Senior Project Controls Engineers with experience in planning and scheduling. You could be responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining, and updating project and programme schedules.
- Working with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to gather progress information.
- Managing schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Monitoring progress against approved baselines.
- Identifying schedule variance, trends, delays, and potential recovery opportunities.
- Supporting change management and impact assessments.
- Producing project and programme progress reports.
- Supporting earned value and performance measurement.
- Working with project teams to improve delivery certainty and programme performance.
Experience with Primavera P6 is particularly valuable.
Project Controls – Cost
Opportunities are also available for professionals specialising in cost control and cost engineering. Responsibilities may include:
- Collecting and analysing project cost data.
- Supporting budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
- Monitoring actual expenditure against approved budgets.
- Identifying cost variances, trends, and potential financial risks.
- Supporting monthly reporting and project performance reviews.
- Working with multidisciplinary teams to improve cost visibility and control.
- Using systems such as EcoSys, Excel, and Power BI.
- Supporting project controls governance and assurance.
Candidates with backgrounds in cost engineering, project controls, commercial controls, finance, or project accounting may be relevant.
Project Controls – Risk
We are seeking Project Controls professionals with a particular interest or specialism in project risk. You may be involved in:

- Maintaining and developing project and programme risk registers.
- Gathering risk information from multidisciplinary project teams.
- Facilitating risk identification and review processes.
- Analysing qualitative and quantitative project risks.
- Supporting quantitative risk analysis and risk modelling.
- Identifying trends, opportunities, threats, and mitigation strategies.
- Producing risk reports and management information.
- Integrating risk information into wider project controls reporting.
- Supporting project governance, assurance, and risk management processes.
Experience with @RISK, Risk Hive, ARM, Predict, or similar risk tools would be advantageous. Relevant qualifications such as MoR, APM Risk, or IRM are also beneficial, although not essential for every position.
Digital Project Controls & Data
For those with a strong interest in digital project controls, data, and technology, we also have opportunities focused on improving how project and programme information is captured, analysed, and reported. You could be involved in:
- Developing project controls dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Gathering, cleansing, and analysing project data.
- Developing data models and visualisations.
- Using Power BI, Power Query, SQL, Tableau, Qlik, or similar technologies.
- Supporting the implementation of digital project controls solutions.
- Improving project controls processes through technology and automation.
- Working with clients to understand requirements and develop practical solutions.
- Supporting workshops, training, implementation, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Turning complex project information into clear, actionable insight.
This could suit candidates coming from either a Project Controls background with strong digital capability or a data/BI background with experience of projects, programmes, or the construction/infrastructure environment.
Defence – Planning & Project Controls
We also have opportunities supporting major Defence and National Security infrastructure programmes. These positions involve working across the project lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on Planning & Scheduling, and can include:
- Developing and maintaining complex project schedules.
- Working with Project Managers and delivery teams.
- Monitoring progress and identifying emerging issues.
- Schedule analysis and recovery planning.
- Change management.
- Progress and performance reporting.
- Earned Value Management.
- Stakeholder management.
- Working across multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience with Primavera P6, major infrastructure projects, and/or the NEC suite of contracts would be advantageous. Please note: Some Defence opportunities are subject to UK security and trade-control requirements, including eligibility for UK Government security clearance. Requirements vary between projects.
