Role Overview
This role is to be initially based on our Alliance Park project in Acton. Sweet Projects are carrying out the following works situated in the city of London, the 1.95-hectare site previously contained Renault and Nissan showrooms, vehicle forecourts and maintenance areas, as well as internal waste oil storage facilities. For the first phase of the project, all buildings and structures, including the retaining wall, were demolished.
To prepare for the construction of two new hyperscale data centres, along with an office building and substation, major utility diversions and disconnections were necessary. Ground remediation and site re-levelling.
Responsibilities
The Project Controls Engineer supports the delivery of project controls services across complex construction projects. The role is responsible for:
- Maintaining project controls systems
- Producing accurate reporting and analysis
- Supporting data quality
- Providing meaningful project information to assist effective decision-making and project delivery
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain project controls systems, reports, and dashboards to agreed quality standards
- Support development and enhancement of reporting tools, including Power BI dashboards and automated reporting solutions
- Ensure project controls information is accurate, consistent, and available to stakeholders

Data Management & Analysis
- Capture, validate, and maintain project progress data across pre-construction and construction phases
- Extract, analyse, and validate information from project management systems and reporting platforms
- Monitor data quality, completeness, and consistency across project controls processes
- Escalate data quality issues and reporting risks where appropriate
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Produce reporting outputs, trends, and performance metrics to support project delivery teams
- Support analysis of schedule, cost, progress, and performance information
- Assist in identifying key project risks, trends, and opportunities through data analysis
Stakeholder Support & Collaboration
- Work closely with project managers, planners, commercial teams, and discipline leads
- Provide guidance to users of project controls systems and reporting tools
- Support project stakeholders in meeting project controls reporting requirements
Digital Improvement & Automation
- Identify manual reporting activities that can be improved or automated
- Support continuous development of digital project controls tools and processes
- Assist with implementation of Power Platform and reporting improvements where appropriate
Quality & Compliance
- Support compliance with project controls processes and reporting requirements
- Ensure outputs meet agreed standards for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Adhere to the Integrated Management System and Information Security Management System requirements
Success Measures
- Accuracy and reliability of project controls reporting
- Timely issue of reports and dashboards
- Quality of project data and information management
- Continuous improvement and automation initiatives delivered
- Positive feedback from project teams and stakeholders
The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time as dictated by the changing needs of the Company. The post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by his/her manager.

Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Power BI, Power Platform, or relevant digital reporting qualifications desirable
- Evidence of continuous professional development in project controls, reporting, or data analytics
Experience Required
- Experience supporting project controls, reporting, or project performance functions within construction or infrastructure
- Experience developing, maintaining, and analysing reporting information
- Practical experience using Power BI and Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of project management and project controls principles
- Experience working with programme information, including Primavera P6 desirable
- Construction sector experience preferred
