Location: Acton, West London
Sector: Data Centres
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + Package
The Opportunity
A specialist contractor is looking to appoint a Project Controls Engineer to support the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre development in West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical, reporting, and digital skills to build their career within project controls while working on a complex and high-profile construction scheme.
You will sit at the centre of project reporting, helping delivery teams understand progress, performance, trends, and risks through accurate data and meaningful analysis.
Role Overview
The role will focus on maintaining project controls systems, producing reliable reports and dashboards, and ensuring project information is accurate, consistent, and available to the right stakeholders.
You will work closely with project managers, planners, commercial teams, and discipline leads to capture and validate progress data across both pre-construction and construction. You will also help analyse schedule, cost, and performance information, identify emerging trends, and support informed project decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
