The opportunity: Our Mobility team is continuing to grow and we are looking for an experienced Project Controls Manager to join a major rail programme in London.

Working as part of a high-performing delivery team, you will support the successful delivery of a complex portfolio of rail and transport infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving project performance across planning, cost, risk, change and reporting, helping to deliver critical infrastructure that will benefit communities for generations to come.

This role will suit an experienced Project Controls professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams and is passionate about delivering excellence across major infrastructure programmes.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing the implementation and continuous improvement of project controls and PMO frameworks across major rail projects.
  • Providing oversight of project performance across schedule, cost, risk, change and reporting functions.
  • Developing and maintaining effective controls processes that support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
  • Managing and mentoring project controls teams, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Supporting programme governance activities and provide assurance across delivery teams.
  • Producing and presenting accurate performance reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Driving consistency and best practice across planning, risk, cost and change management activities.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
  • Supporting resource planning, recruitment and capability development within the project controls function.
  • Championing innovation and continuous improvement across project controls processes and tools.

You’ll need to have:

  • Significant experience in a Project Controls Management role within major infrastructure or rail programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls disciplines, including planning, cost management, risk management, change control and performance reporting.
  • Experience leading project controls teams within complex, client-facing environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and driving improved project performance.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to guide, coach and develop others.
  • An understanding of how sustainability and carbon considerations influence infrastructure delivery.
  • Membership of APM, RICS, ICE, CIOB or another relevant professional body.
  • Experience working on major rail or transportation programmes.
  • Experience supporting complex public sector or regulated infrastructure environments.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and project delivery excellence.
