Job Description
Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in project controls within major infrastructure and engineering programmes.
You will support the delivery of effective project controls services, including reporting, cost management, planning, risk management, change control and project governance. Working alongside experienced Project Controls professionals, you will gain exposure to complex projects while developing the skills needed to progress your career.
Your role
- Support the preparation of project reports, dashboards and performance metrics.
- Assist with cost tracking, forecasting and budget monitoring.
- Help maintain project schedules and monitor progress against agreed milestones.
- Support risk and opportunity management processes, including maintaining risk registers.
- Assist with change control processes and project documentation.
- Analyse project data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Support monthly reporting and governance requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records and data within project systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, commercial teams and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and digital solutions.
About you
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Finance, Business Management or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, relevant industry experience combined with a willingness to develop within Project Controls.
Skills & Experience
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, proactive and willing to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable
- Previous experience in project controls, PMO, planning, cost management or project support.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Understanding of project lifecycles and project delivery processes.
- Experience within infrastructure, transportation, aviation, defence, water or energy sectors.
- Working towards an APM, PMI or other relevant professional qualification.
