Job Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Duxford, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £29,000 - £34,000 DOE
Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)
Are you an organised and proactive professional with a passion for keeping projects on track and delivering results? SMT GB is looking for a Project Coordinator to join our Business Development Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Duxford.
Reporting to the Programme Delivery Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting the planning, coordination and governance of business projects. Working with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll help ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule and aligned with business objectives while maintaining accurate documentation, reporting and project controls.
This role would be particularly well suited to a recent graduate in a relevant discipline or an individual looking to develop their career in project management within a growing and ambitious organisation.
About The Role
SMT is currently expanding its project management capability through the introduction of a new Project & Bid Management Office (PBMO). This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at a formative stage and play a key role in supporting the development of the PBMO, helping to define responsibilities, ways of working and collaboration with operational teams across the organisation.
The PBMO will support a varied portfolio of projects spanning all SMT divisions and support functions. These projects will typically focus on more complex business change initiatives with higher levels of risk, stakeholder involvement and financial investment. Examples may include the onboarding of new brands and partnerships, organisational change programmes and projects involving significant business investment.
In addition to supporting major projects, the PBMO will help colleagues across the business deliver smaller initiatives by providing practical guidance, tools and templates to encourage consistent and effective project delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
