Job Description

About Us

Fusion, the process that powers the sun and stars, is one of the most promising options for generating the cleaner, carbon-free energy that our world badly needs. UKAEA leads the way in realizing fusion energy, partnering with industry and research organisations to achieve ground-breaking advancements. Our goal is to bring fusion electricity to the grid by developing the power stations of tomorrow and the skilled workforce to deliver them.

About the Job

As a Project Coordinator, you’ll provide essential support across multiple UKAEA projects, helping projects, enabling project teams to focus on technical delivery while maintaining robust project and programme governance and controls. Your work will contribute to projects that support UKAEA’s mission to deliver sustainable fusion energy while creating scientific and economic benefit. This is an opportunity to develop your project delivery experience while working across a varied portfolio of complex and high-value projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain project registers, filing systems, databases and records in line with UKAEA requirements.
  • Prepare draft project reports, presentations and documentation, including templates where required.
  • Coordinate project meetings, gate reviews and boards, including preparing papers, recording minutes and tracking actions.
  • Track project actions through to timely completion and provide coordination support to the Project Manager.
  • Analyse project and financial data to produce accurate project reports.
  • Maintain project risk and change registers, ensuring risks, changes and deviations are recorded and tracked.
  • Raise requisitions and work orders, process invoices and track purchase orders and expenditure.
  • Monitor purchase order expenditure and highlight variances or emerging issues to the Project Manager or relevant Responsible Officer.
  • Coordinate administrative activities across the project teams and with enabling and interdependent teams to support delivery.
  • Participate in PfMO knowledge-sharing and training initiatives and support compliance with UKAEA policies, including Health & Safety, EDI and security requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
