Role Description

The Civils Project Coordinator is a full-time hybrid role based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with some flexibility for working from home. The role involves planning and coordinating civils and construction activities for telecoms projects, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing work schedules, ordering materials, requesting free issue kit from client where applicable, liaising with field teams, subcontractors, and clients, tracking progress, and updating project documentation. The Civils Project Coordinator will monitor site activities for safety and quality, manage permits and documentation, and support issue resolution to keep projects on track. The role also includes reporting on project status, maintaining communication with clients, and contributing to continuous improvement in project processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project schedules, trackers, and progress reporting.
  • Coordinate civils activities including excavation, duct installation, chamber construction, cable installation, and reinstatement works.
  • Track project milestones and ensure delivery against programme targets.
  • Manage project documentation, including permits and handover packs.
  • Identify project risks, delays, and roadblocks whilst supporting mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with NRSWA, Health & Safety, and client quality standards.
  • Support commercial teams with project forecasting, variations, and cost tracking.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating civils or construction projects, ideally within the telecoms or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with project documentation, reporting tools, and basic IT systems (e.g., MS Office, project tracking software).
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to construction and civils work.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with field teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites within the Manchester Area and surrounding regions, as required.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline are beneficial.
