Permanent Project Co-ordinator

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Project Co-ordinator to join Northampton Schools Account at Amey, 1st Floor, Waterside House, 29 Waterside Way, Northampton NN4 7XD – This role will be based on site.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week: Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm

Responsibilities

This role will support project delivery by assisting with planning, documentation, reporting and coordination tasks. Work under supervision of experienced project managers to build practical understanding of project delivery in a professional environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Support project delivery by assisting with planning, documentation, reporting and coordination tasks.
  • Prepare, maintain and update project documentation, registers, spreadsheets, databases and reports.
  • Support project scheduling, monitoring, reporting and mobilisation activities.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Ensure contractors provide required documentation, including RAMS, permits, insurance certificates and compliance records.
  • Support procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, preparing purchase orders and tracking expenditure.
  • Assist with risk and issue tracking, escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Attend project meetings, take minutes and support follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate project mobilisation and close-out documentation, including work instructions, health and safety plans, access packs, client approvals and internal submissions.
  • Manage School Change project schedules and liaise with internal teams and clients.
  • Process project-related invoices and financial applications.
  • Assist in managing defects, snagging and handover processes.
  • Ensure project activities align with PFI contractual commitments and performance standards.

  • GCSEs, A-Levels or equivalent are desirable.
  • A project management qualification such as APM Project Fundamentals, PRINCE2 or equivalent is desirable.
  • Professional membership, such as APM Associate Member or equivalent, is desirable.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent health and safety qualification is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • IT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Work placement, internship or project-related experience is desirable.
  • Evidence of teamwork and problem-solving through academic or extracurricular activities.
  • Familiarity with project environments is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience coordinating construction, refurbishment, facilities management or lifecycle projects is advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic project scheduling, reporting, documentation and record-keeping knowledge.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, construction and facilities management project processes is desirable.
