PROJECT COORDINATOR / CAD TECHNICIAN

Contract: Healthcare

Location: Bishop Auckland Hospital, Durham - DL14 6AD

Hours of work: 37.5

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Project Coordinator / CAD Technician to support project delivery activities, maintain technical documentation, and assist with the coordination of contractors and enabling works.

This role combines project coordination responsibilities with AutoCAD drawing management and technical administration within a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We are looking for an organised and technically capable individual who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and support project managers by ensuring works are completed to the required standards, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with financial and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate contractor access and ensure contractors are signed in appropriately.
  • Assess and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  • Support and coordinate enabling works activities.
  • Verify that works are completed to the required standards and report outcomes to the Lifecycle Manager.
  • Assist with financial reporting, budget tracking, project management reporting, and five-year plan activities.
  • Create, update, amend, and maintain AutoCAD drawings, including floor layouts and site drawings.
  • Maintain project documentation, asset maintenance records, and engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare reports, track actions, and liaise with multiple stakeholders.

About You

  • Experience supporting Project Managers and project teams.
  • Relevant technical qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction, Business, or Project Management.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, including drawing creation and revision.
  • Experience with engineering document management systems.
  • Background in engineering, construction, building services, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other technical environments.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, HTMs, and planning/building processes.
  • Experience maintaining project, asset, and maintenance records.
  • Skilled in coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and tracking actions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience using project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project, Monday.com).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of financial procedures, reporting, and budget support.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks in a fast-paced environment.
