The Opportunity

Join Stantec at an exciting time of growth as we continue to expand our commercial team supporting some of the UK's most significant energy generation and transmission programmes. Based in the heart of Bristol city centre, this role offers the opportunity to work on nationally important infrastructure projects while enjoying all the benefits of one of the UK's most vibrant and connected cities.

Bristol has become a major hub for the energy and infrastructure sector, offering a thriving professional community, outstanding transport links, and a dynamic city-centre environment filled with culture, restaurants, green spaces and waterfront attractions. From our centrally located office, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams delivering projects that are helping shape the future of the UK's energy network.

We are looking for commercially minded professionals who are passionate about cost and commercial management and who want to play an active role in delivering infrastructure that supports the UK's transition to a more sustainable future.

About The Role

As a Project Cost Consultant, you will take a leading role in the commercial management of major energy and transmission projects, providing expert cost and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with clients, project teams and senior Stantec management and all stakeholders, you will support project delivery from early-stage feasibility through procurement, contract administration and construction. You will contribute to bid development, cost planning activities, risk management and commercial decision-making, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and provide maximum value.

This is a varied role that offers exposure to complex infrastructure programmes while providing opportunities to develop your expertise and influence project outcomes.

Your Impact

You will provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of projects, helping clients make informed decisions and navigate commercial challenges with confidence. By developing robust cost plans, advising on procurement and contract strategies, managing cost reporting and supporting contract administration activities, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success.

Working as a trusted advisor, you will build strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams, representing Stantec throughout project delivery. Your ability to identify and manage commercial risks, challenge assumptions and provide practical solutions will help ensure projects remain commercially sound while delivering critical infrastructure that enables a more resilient and sustainable energy future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
