Client Deployment Role Description
Albany Beck are seeking a Project Delivery Assurance SME will provide independent subject matter expertise across complex, high-value business, technology and data transformation programmes. The role is responsible for assessing programme health, identifying delivery risks and improvement opportunities, and driving thematic initiatives that strengthen organisational delivery capability.
Working closely with Delivery Assurance Directors and senior programme stakeholders, the role will provide evidence-based assurance, identify root causes of delivery challenges, and recommend practical improvements that enable greater delivery confidence, increased velocity and improved right-first-time outcomes across strategic programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent delivery assurance across strategically important business and technology transformation programmes through health checks, deep dives and targeted assurance reviews.
- Assess programme delivery capability, governance and execution to identify risks, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop clear, evidence-based recommendations and support programme teams in implementing sustainable improvements.
- Identify recurring delivery themes across programmes and lead or support organisation-wide improvement initiatives that enhance delivery performance and consistency.
- Design, develop and continuously improve delivery assurance frameworks, methodologies and assessment criteria.
- Produce high-quality assurance reports, including executive summaries, findings, recommendations, escalation actions and follow-up activities.
- Evaluate programme governance, planning, financial management, risk and dependency management, resource planning, benefits realisation, architecture, data, testing, operational readiness and implementation readiness.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide constructive challenge while maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
- Support Delivery Assurance Directors in strengthening organisational delivery capability through continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Significant experience providing independent project and programme delivery assurance across complex, high-value and strategically important transformation programmes.
- Demonstrable experience conducting programme health checks, assurance reviews and deep-dive assessments.
- Extensive knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project delivery methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid approaches.
- Relevant project management qualifications or equivalent professional certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, Agile certifications).
- Proven track record of identifying, developing and implementing delivery improvement initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in programme performance.
- Experience designing, implementing or enhancing delivery assurance frameworks, including assessment methodologies, review processes, reporting standards, escalation routes, follow-up activities and thematic reporting.
- Strong understanding of programme governance and controls, including integrated planning, risk and dependency management, financial management, benefits realisation, resourcing, architecture, data management, testing, operational readiness and implementation assurance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear recommendations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging confidently at senior leadership level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise executive-level assurance reports.

Desirable
- Experience delivering assurance across large-scale technology and data transformation programmes.
- Strong technical understanding in one or more of the following areas:
- Cloud and data centre migration
- Microsoft Azure
- Enterprise billing platforms
- Data architecture
- Digital content platforms
- Large-scale data migration
- Experience working within enterprise PMOs, transformation offices or central delivery assurance functions.
- Knowledge of organisational change, continuous improvement and delivery maturity models.
